Getting Started

Important Notice!

Join us for our next Paperless Worship on May 3rd!

Welcome!  This paperless worship project endeavors to enhance the Episcopal tradition through the use of technology.  We aim to continue everything we so love about our liturgy and worship style, but to use a high tech interface to facilitate easier access, distanced engagement, and contemporary sharing and convenience.

If you're feeling a little hesitant, that's okay! On this page you'll find video tutorials that discuss many of the skills you'll need to easily interact in this format.  You can study on your own, request specific device tutorials via commenting, or (my personal recommendation) look to a young person in your church (it's amazing how much they know about tech) and form new friendships.

Let's start at the very beginning.  Since you're here, I'm going to assume you and your device are already connected to a wireless internet source (either WiFi or phone network) and have full internet access.

This is the main app we'll be using for this program, so you'll need to download it to get started.  It's completely free and fairly easy to use.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO CREATE AN ACCOUNT TO USE THE APP. I personally recommend it, since it allows you use other features, but for this service it is not required.  Just look for the "X" in the top right corner to escape the image that appears.

Here are two videos produced by other churches that talk about how to get to the specific feature we'll use in our services. Watch the next two videos for a quick look at how to get where you need to go for this special service.  Each video is less than 3 minutes long, so you can quickly learn what you'll need to know.

If you're joining in from somewhere outside Valrico, Fl you might need to look up our event in the app by our group name of "HIyouth" in order to connect. If you're on the premises, your device's GPS proximity should put our event at the top of your search automatically.

After you're comfortable with the app, you'll only need to know one more thing to be able to fully engage in our Paperless Worship services.  Some of the segments of worship and liturgy pieces in the app actually link to specific pages on this site.  In order to follow along with the service, you'll need to know how to easily switch between open programs on your device.  Below are two tutorials for the two most popular device brands.  If you use a device that is not featured, leave a comment on this page with your device's info and I'll look in to finding a video tutorial that meets your needs.

Apple Devices (iOS 7+)

Samsung Devices

This app does so much, so I highly encourage you to look at it outside of our worship together and allow all its features to help put the bible into your daily routine. The video below talks a little bit about each of the features and acquaints you with the interface.  This video is not required in order to use this format for the service, and some of the button locations shown will change depending on what type of device you're using.
